SB 363 was heard on Tuesday night 3/5/19 in Senate Judiciary at 8:30 pm. After some lengthy discussion about the bill, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to “table” the bill for this year. This means that the bill will not move forward during the remainder of the legislative session.
Thanks to those members and our constituents throughout the state who voiced their opinions about the SLP Assistant licensure and contributed to the legislative process. The NMSHA board will continue to consult with the Regulation and Licensing Board, the Public Education Department, and with SLPs from around the state concerning the issues and ramifications in the absence of SLP Assistant licensure.
