Advocacy

NMSHA is vital in following state legislation. Receive our lobbyists’ updates during the legislative session to stay informed on legislation that impacts our professions and clients. Volunteer on NMSHA committees for Task Force initiatives. Join us for our annual NMSHA Day at the Legislature to talk to your legislator and network with other professionals as well as students attending state programs.

Advance the Profession

Help us advocate for ethical principles and professional standards in the field and empower and provide professional support for our colleagues. We provide a platform for the presentation of education and research, particularly from professionals in New Mexico, to support evidence-based practice.

Networking

Network with other professionals in the state and throughout the country through NMSHA hosted events, including our NMSHA Annual Convention, Spring Virtual Conference, NMSHA Social Hour, NMSHA Medical Journal Club, and membership communications. The NMSHA Convention is held annually in the fall and features state and national speakers on a wide variety of topics relevant to our fields.

Professional Development

ASHA recognizes NMSHA as an approved sponsor. Members can attain state and national continuing education credit at a discounted rate. Dues also fund our lobbyists who work with state legislators, follow and inform our association about active legislation, and help us act on proposed legislation that impacts our professions.

• $50 – includes 1 post each week for 2 weeks on Facebook and Instagram (4 total) and 1 month
  advertisement on NMSHA website
• Additional $40 – for creation of social media sized images (if you do not provide your own)
• Additional $10 – for an additional month of advertisement on NMSHA website
• Exhibit during our in-person or virtual conventions.
